Lifestyle ~ Doctor directed weight-loss: swift, safe, simple.
MDHL offers enhanced weight-loss utilizing a holistic approach
under the supervision of our physician.
Objective: To create a very simple but
professional and sophisticated website to appeal to the
target market, higher income females from age 30 to 55.
As the business is predominantly able to grow itself this
website is strictly informational and thus very concise
in its marketing purposes.
Method: After designing a full-featured
interface and content structure the job was to pare it down
to its essential attributes only. The choice of model was
also crucial, she needed to appeal to the target market
by being attractive and athletic but real.
Meta Tag Description: Friend 2 Friend
Social Learning Society is a British Columbia-based not-for-profit
organization formed in 2002 by Heather McCracken for the
purpose of promoting understanding, acceptance and mutually
rewarding friendships between children with autism spectrum
and related social-communication disorders and their peers.
Objective: To create a fun, friendly,
Autistic-person-accessible website that was also efficient
and informative for parents and educators. The website discusses
the non-profit organization and explains its programs, puppet
presentations and simulation games through text, photos
and a video. The website was supposed to encourage Greater
Vancouver area elementary school teachers to book presentations,
but educators all over the world have been enquiring about
F2F's programs.
Method: Being a non-profit organization
it was essential to get the most design for the least cost,
which meant keeping the interface simple but still making
it fun. Thanks to the childs drawings and the pictures of
the puppets provided by F2F the simple and the fun were
achieved.
Meta Tag Description: Madison Talent Management
is a mid-sized talent agency located in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
At Madison we represent many multi-talented clients for
film, television, commercials, modeling, print and voice.
The clients we represent range in age from babies as young
as 6 months old for commercials, all ages of children, through
to teens, adults and mature adults. Madison Talent Management
is owned by Susan Zonailo.
Objective: To create a unique and professional-looking
website with a limited amount of colour and interface design
to distract the user. The website functions to emphasize
the thumbnail and actor profile pages as it is mostly used
as a reference guide for casting directors. The website
needed to be fast, concise and easy-to-use.
Method: First we assessed the needs of
the client, their expectations and price range. Taking the
existing logo, S.I. designed new business cards and then
created a minimal interface for the website using black,
white and grey and the leopard skin pattern that is part
of the logo and a theme of the company. Then the actors
pictures were sized and their profiles formatted and the
website launched.
Meta Tag Description: Born in Vancouver,
British Columbia, Carolyn Zonailo attended Scripps College,
in Claremont, California; and the University of Rochester,
New York, where she published poems in student literary
magazines and studied with classics scholar, Norman O. Brown
(author of Love's Body and Life Against Death). She received
her B.A. in literature from the University of British Columbia
(1971) and M.A. from Simon Fraser University (1980). During
her life, Zonailo has maintained an interest in mythology,
archetypal studies, and Jungian psychology. Her poetic vision
encompasses a personal and feminist viewpoint together with
that of a mythic and universal perspective.
Objective: To create a unique, professional-looking
website with a very user-friendly navigation system and
clean lines and spacing for efficient formatting of the
extensive content, which includes poems, articles, interviews
and images. The pages also needed to be readily printable.
The website is to be used as a self-promotional tool as
well as a research tool for future generations of students
and scholars.
Method: The first step was to assess the
type and amount of written material and to organize it into
sections and subsections. Once the content and navigation
system was organized the interface was designed to compliment
the content, allowing for some images and lots of white
space to give the written content breathing space. Once
the interface was finalized it was time to format and proof
the content and then launch the website.
